The Organic Myth

Think that “certified organic” food at Wal-Mart is any better and healthier than the regular brands? Read this article and think again. Unless you raise it yourself, or buy it from a local farmer, there’s no telling what you’re getting when you buy “organic”. Especially when more and more of our “organic” food is coming from China, where strict standards and controls are impossible to enforce. The concept of organic has been so diluted that it’s practically meaningless. But originally it meant not only using all natural, pesticide free growing methods, but included the idea of buying locally raised products. That kind of organic food is worth paying more for, but paying extra for national brands of “organic” food is probably just throwing money away.
